Spring Cleaning Weekend - Adopt Rose Island for a weekend. Sign up for some REAL Light-Housekeeping to get the lighthouse in shape for the busy spring and summer seasons. BYO Lunch, work gloves and tools. Make sure your tools are marked with your name, unless you want to donate them!

Lighthouse Clean Up - Saturday, May 10 from 11:00-3:00 PM
Give the museum a good old-fashioned spring cleaning. Wash walls, windows, woodwork, and floors, beat the rugs, repair the screen doors, and polish the brass. Outside work includes: gardening, thatching and filling holes in the lawn, and sweeping out the south gun tub.

Furniture Repair and Refinishing - We have chairs, rockers, tables and bookcases that need spiffing up. Some projects are more intricate than others, so we can use all skill levels.
Beach Debris Clean Up - Everyone who visits the lighthouse is asked to pick up beach debris that is counted twice a year - in April (Earth Day) and in September (Get the drift and bag it). Scout and other Youth groups are encouraged to sign up for the spring or fall work session. Minimum 4 people needed.
Transcribe Old Log Books - We've got 12 years of different people's handwriting to decipher from 1994 to the present. You can work at home from copies. Microsoft Word needed.
News clippers - send us newspaper and magazine articles that mention the lighthouse or Rose Island (include name of paper and date of publication)
Scanning photographs & articles - We've got historic as well as recent photos, plus news articles to scan and catalogue. This is a great opportunity to learn if you don't already know how to use the equipment. Will train someone who can work on a regular schedule (i.e., one afternoon a week).
