SUMMER FERRY INFORMATION

  • During the SUMMER, the ferry runs on a stop-and-go schedule much like a public bus --it doesn't wait and it doesn't even stop unless it sees there are riders.

  • Be at the departure points with all your belongings at least 15 minutes prior to posted departure times. 

  • At Rose Island and Fort Adams you need to WATCH FOR THE FERRY and SIGNAL IT TO STOP.

  • The ferry runs at other times but doesn't stop at Rose Island for daytime visitors except at the times listed above.  Click here to see the ferry website and full schedule.

SIGNALING THE FERRY TO STOP

  • AT ROSE ISLAND - Raise the yellow flag on the dock at least 10 minutes before your departure time.  (Take it down before you leave or the ferry will keep coming back.)

  • AT FORT ADAMS - Wave your arms to get attention when you see the ferry.

  • If you have a cell phone or VHF radio call:
